John started with All Aspects in July of 2023 after working as a Monroe County Building inspector and plans examiner since 2017.
I first came to the Keys in 1977 on a weekend excursion with some friends and fell in love with the Keys. In 1982 my wife and I returned for a late honeymoon and when work slowed up in Ohio I made the move to Big Pine with my family in 1985. I was employed as a carpenter until 1988 when I earned my license as a Florida Building contractor and did that until 1992 when I returned to Ohio due to an illness in my family.
My wife and I returned to Big Pine in 2017.
My construction career started in 1976, when I graduated from high school. I worked repairing timber frame barns and learned the Art of timber joinery. I went from repairing barns to building new Timber Frame homes and light commercial buildings. When I returned to Ohio in 1992, I continued my love for Timber Framing and once again began to build Timber Frame homes, golf course club houses, farm markets and a number of light commercial buildings.
I have spent my entire adult life in construction and very much enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with the younger generations as a building inspector. In my younger years as a contractor there were not a lot of building departments and alot of my work was in the rural community where you did not need building permits but over the years I have learned that building codes are a necessity. I believe my job is not only to uphold the codes but to teach people why there are codes and why they are relevant to what we do.

Being a Contractor, Owner Builder and a Government Inspector helps Steve understand and navigate the construction Industry in the Keys. Acting as a Private Provider Inspector allows for the ability to bring out the best results from all vantage points.
